deported

each tear is a scream
for every wall we built

seen from an impenetrable distance
a young man deported
from a prison camp roof

his body lays broken-
still inside

while the sun moves freely
through the southern cross sky

the only child

The only child
left
in desperation
clings to his monologue
and buries his childhood
alone.

symmetry in emptiness

The distant sky
is but a reflection
of the ocean
turned upside down.

And I am here.
An image
caught in rapture.
Drowning.
